When Amber contacted me about a birthday style shoot for their daughter, Hadley, turning two, it brought me straight back to the fond memories of my own two year olds and what a fun season that was. [Ok, fine, totally challenging too. But the hard seems to disappear with each passing year. THANKFULLY.] They are becoming little humans. Talking. Carrying on conversations. Realizing they have freewill and choices. [Maybe not always for the better- ha!] Perhaps even potty training and learning to sleep in a big bed. In the world of parenting, these things are big deals. Like worthy of a cheers, people.
Two year olds are no surprise to me with sessions. They usually are quite shy at first then we start to have fun and play games and then the genuine big smiles come out. Sometimes they don't want to take a picture at all or decide the photoshoot is over even when it shouldn't be. But, you know what? I love the challenge. I love it because in the end you get the real deal. Like the fingers in the mouth because that is their comfort. Or the tickling from dad and chasing. And it's all so good. And then the next year they are completely different and come with new challenges and new celebrations.
Cheers to two!
