Meet baby Deacon. He's stinking adorable right? Yes, I do agree. But sometimes pictures don't reveal the work behind the sleeping babe. He has been my most challenging baby yet to get to sleep. [I usually call myself the baby whisperer, but perhaps I walked in with over confidence and it worked me.] But I was determined to stay until I got the shots I wanted. Because he really was so, so sweet. He just preferred to be held instead of laid down despite the sound machine, space heater, and the prayers for SWEET JESUS LET THE BABY SLEEP. Sure enough though, we got the sleeping baby shots. And I am pretty in love with them. I got to try out some of my new props-- knit baby overalls. Yes, please. I like to do a mix of posed baby, but also lifestyle. Mama, dad, siblings just loving each other. In their home. And it's really too bad mama, Sarah, looked like a movie star 10 DAYS AFTER GIVING BIRTH. I'm looking forward to another newborn shoot this weekend and a few more scheduled over the next months. Because BABY FIX.
